The following is a basic specification for the Signature product. For generating anl NBS style specification, please click here, or use the NBS Clauses button on the left hand menu bar.
GENERAL
The partition system shall be Unilock ‘Signature’ pre-engineered modular wall system, with integral glazed, solid, tiled and doorframe elements; enabling complete cellular spaces to be constructed without ‘wet’ trades.
CONSTRUCTION
The partition system shall be of bi-block construction offering individual removal of and replacement of panels from either side of the wall without removal or disturbance of adjacent modules. The partition system shall comprise factory assembled and finished panels, with integral formed edge profiles, mounted between adjustable floor and ceiling tracks presenting a recessed head and base detail.
PERFORMANCE
The Signature system shall be capable of providing fire resistance, under BS476 PT22 to half hour for solid, glazed and doorframe elements.
The system shall be capable of providing acoustic attenuation under ISO140/ISO717 test and rating procedures : of between 41dB RW and 49dB RW for solid elements; between 39dB RW and 44dB RW for glazed elements and 34dB RW for standard doorsets.
DIMENSIONS
The system shall have a nominal thickness of 86mm.
The system shall be capable of being manufactured in modular dimensions from 300-1200mm for solid and tiled elements, 300-1500mm for glazed elements.
The system shall be manufactured to accommodate floor to ceiling dimensions up to 3000mm
Head detail shall be an inset head track rolled from 1.2mm thick steel, containing acoustic foam of 80KG/M3 density, with an expressed depth of 35mm, and acoustic foam strips to seal against soffit. It shall accept +/- 7.5mm ceiling runout
Panel to panel junctions: panels shall be locked in position using a patented concealed J-key connector. Inset between the panels shall be a friction fit PVC insert presenting a flush 7mm nominal dimension, self coloured, from Unilock standard range.
Corners: corners shall be formed by extruded aluminium profiles of radiused or square profile, matched to panel height.
Base Detail: Shall be a two piece inset floor track and levelling track rolled from 1.2mm steel, containing acoustic foam of 80KG/M3 density, with an expressed depth of 65mm. It shall accept a +/- 15mm floor runout.
Solid Steel Panels: Shall be formed of 1mm steel, folded and bonded to a layer of 12.5mm thick Gypsum board, incorporating integral formed edge profiles and horizontal stiffener profiles.
Finish: Panels and track/doorframe profiles shall be polyester powder coated to a minimum thickness of 50 microns. Colours from manufacturers standard range.
Glazed panels: Glazed panels shall be fully interchangeable with solid panels or doorsets to the same modular dimensions. Double glazed modules shall be two sheets of 6mm toughened safety glass. Each sheet shall be housed in an aluminium frame with a concealed PVC gasket. Each glazing element shall be factory assembled.
The system shall include as a glazing option a flush glazed panel construction which shall be directly interchangeable with framed glazed panels. The glass panes shall be fixed by means of a high strength adhesive bond to an assembled aluminium frame. The perimeter of each glass sheet shall be locally masked by an applied band of paint, bonded to the reverse face of the glass.
Blinds: Shall be capable of being incorporated in certain double glazed panel configurations complete with control cable and knob adjustment at mullion: Classic radius full height.
Doorframes: Shall be manufactured from steel and aluminium extrusions, to various profiles: Classic radius, Aerofoil and Square Frames shall be pre-prepared for hinges (Royde and Tucker hi-load) and strike box (Union 2277 lock or similar). Doorframes shall be capable of accepting 44mm/54mm solid doorleaves or 10/12mm glass leaves.
Tiled Panels: Shall be manufactured to the same constructional specification as full height steel panels and glazed panels, and are to be incorporated into a welded steel surround frame so as to be installed as a single bi-block panel. The system shall enable combinations of solid, glazed and laminate/veneered and wrapped board tiles to be accommodated within a common frame.
Veneered/Laminate/Fabric Wrapped board panels: Shall be manufactured as particle board substrates with decorative surface finish factory applied, and are to be incorporated into a welded steel surround frame so as to be installed as a single bi-block panel.
